Paras is een Pokémon met paddenstoelen. De paddenstoelen die op zijn rug groeien zijn zeldzaam. Hij graaft in de grond om wortels uit te zuigen. Bij zijn geboorte heeft hij nog geen paddenstoelen op zijn rug. Die komen pas tijdens zijn groei te voorschijn uit de paddenstoelsporen die hij al vanaf zijn geboorte bij zich draagt. De dubbele classificatie als InsectGras van deze Pokémon komt meteen tot uitdrukking in zijn uiterlijk. Paras valt tegenstanders frontaal aan met krabachtige klauwen en hij heeft paddenstoelachtige uitstulpingen die wolken verdovende sporen kunnen uitstoten die bijna iedere tegenstander verlammen. Met genoeg ervaring evolueert Paras naar Parasect.
